Frequently Asked Questions
Is the analysis board free?
Yes. There is no limit and no account.
How do I read the evaluation?
The number is in pawns from White's side: +1.50 means White is better by about a pawn and a half, a minus sign means Black is better. M3 means mate in three moves.
What is a FEN?
A single line of text that describes a position: where every piece is, whose move it is, and castling rights. Chess.com and Lichess can both copy one from any game.
Can I share a position?
Yes. The position is part of the page address, so Copy link gives you a link that opens on it.
Can it review a whole game?
For move grades and an accuracy score, use the Game Analyzer. To get one best move for a position, use the Next Move Calculator.
