Chess It Up is a free chess game analysis tool. I am committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how our service works. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information. Chess It Up does not (currently)I may add optional accounts in the future for saving games require account creation, and we do not store your chess games, analysis results, or any personal data on any servers.

When you analyze a game, all processing happens locally in your browser using the Stockfish chess engine. Your games are never uploaded to or stored on any servers.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Chess.com API & Lichess API: When you search for games by username, we fetch your public game data directly from these platforms. We do not store this data.
• Lichess Cloud Evaluation: We may use Lichess's cloud evaluation service for faster analysis of common positions. No personal data is shared.
• Vercel Analytics: We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand how our site is used. This collects anonymous usage data only.

Data Storage

Any preferences or game data you see in the app are stored locally in your browser (localStorage). This data never leaves your device and can be cleared by clearing your browser data.

Ezoic Services

This website uses the services of Ezoic Inc. ("Ezoic"), including to manage third-party interest-based advertising. Ezoic may employ a variety of technologies on this website, including tools to serve content, display advertisements, and enable advertising to visitors of this website, which may utilize first and third-party cookies.

A cookie is a small text file sent to your device by a web server that enables the website to remember information about your browsing activity. First-party cookies are created by the site you are visiting, while third-party cookies are set by domains other than the one you're visiting.
